Passive Death

[2003-09-16 10:38:20 PST]

If one destroys by not creating
if that is truly ever done
is life then wasted while one's waiting
For moments past and gone?

Times come and go while one lays waiting
The right event might never come
The muse can fall right through the grating
Designed to filter out the dumb

The fear of missing the right moment
Shields one from simply falling flat
For one never truly fails
without making an attempt

However failure's not the danger
in this ephemeral, stupid world
it does not matter to a stranger
creations do, they form one's mold.

One can't be merely a bystander,
observe our life and all its joys
and all it takes is a single gander
for those who don't create, destroy!
